The Brewton Babe Ruth Braves picked up their first wins of the season Thursday in Brewton while the Phillies remained winless this season.
The Braves took down the Phillies 11-0 in game one and 14-6 in game two to improve to 2-1 this season while the Phillies fell to 0-3.
Stats and information from the Astros and Padres games in East Brewton Thursday night were not known as of press time.
Makeup game twos from Tuesday’s season opener were to be played Friday night with the Braves and Astros playing at 5 p.m. in Brewton at T.R. Miller while the Padres and Phillies were to play at 6 p.m. at Johnson Park in East Brewton.
The Astros and Padres both won Tuesday’s game one games 9-8 before rain cancelled the second games.

Braves 11, Phillies 0
Sparked by seven first-inning walks, which spotted him a quick 4-0 lead, Braves pitcher Todd Mayo took full advantage of the opportunity to shut out the Phillies. In getting his first win in his initial work on the mound for the season, Mayo put on a clinic and held the Phillies at bay, allowing but two hits while striking out six.
In the meantime, the Braves added three more runs in the second and four in the fourth as the game was called after five innings.
While Mayo was handcuffing the Phillies, his teammates provided him plenty of support by punching out nine hits. Miles Powell led the offensive output with a 3-for-3 performance at the plate, walked and scored three times. Keaton Parker added a pair of hits and scored twice and Hunter Harp, JoJo Booker (two RBIs), Robin Swift and Alex O’Keane added the other hits.
Jared Cooper and James Peach had the only hits for the Phillies.

Braves 14, Phillies 6
The beginning of the second game mirrored the beginning of the first game of the night, as the Phillies yielded a big initial frame to the Braves and never recovered.
Making the most of three hits and three walks, the Braves put seven runs on the board before the Phillies could blink. From there, Braves starter Jo Jo Booker took the 7-1 lead and never looked back. Booker pitched four innings and allowed just five hits and three runs with a walk and four strikeouts. With a 13-1 lead after four innings, Booker gave way for Malcolm Hawthorne and Alex O’Keane to close things out for the Braves (2-1).
In the meantime, the winners had six hits; Miles Powell had two singles with an RBI to lead the Braves’ offensive output, while Hunter Harp, Todd Mayo, Christian Mancil (2-run double) and O’Keane all contributed hits.
For the Phillies, Joshua Winton had two of his team’s hits with a pair of singles and an RBI. Hunter Brittain had an RBI single, as did Jared Cooper. Sam Frazier laced a two-run single as well.
