With only three more playing dates and a makeup game left to play, the Brewton Babe Ruth Astros kept their place atop league standings while the Braves padded their lead for second place.
In games Monday, the Braves swept the Padres 13-2 and 8-4 to improve to 10-6 while dropping the Padres to 8-9.
In games Tuesday, the Astros swept the Phillies 16-5 and 11-1 to improve their record to 14-3 while the Phillies fell to 1-15.
In league standings after Tuesday’s games, the Astros remained in first place followed by the Braves, Padres and Phillies.
Games are set to resume Thursday with the Astros and Braves playing a doubleheader at T.R. Miller at 5 p.m. and the Padres and Phillies playing a doubleheader in East Brewton also at 5 p.m.
Makeup games from an earlier rainout will be played Friday with the Braves and Phillies tied in their game one action. Game will be resume and will be followed by game two at 5 p.m. in Brewton Friday.
The Astros and Padres finished their game one last week and will play their second game Friday at 5 p.m. in East Brewton.

Braves 13, Padres 2
In a battle between two teams competing for second place, the Braves widened their gap for second as they dropped the Padres into third place with a sweep Monday night.
In game one, the Braves scored seven run in the second inning to break a 2-2 tie to cruise to the 11-run win.
The Braves scored 13 unanswered after the Padres led 2-0 after the top of the first.
The Braves scored two in the bottom of the inning, seven in the second and four in the third inning to seal the win.
At the plate for the Braves in the win, Keaton Parker, Jo Jo Booker, Robin Swift and River Johnson all had a double each while Alex O’Keane added three doubles in the win.
Parker was 1-for-3 with two RBIs while Booker was 2-for-3 with two RBIs.
Miles Powell added one RBI in the win and Swift was 2-for-3 with four RBIs. O’Keane was 3-for-3 with four RBIs and Christian Mancil was 1-for-3. Johnson was 1-for-1 with a double.
For the Padres, Rob Jones and Tyler Hoomes were both 1-for-3 in the loss while Chris Jones and Justin Sessions were both 2-for-3.
Lane Chavers had one RBI.
On the mound for the Braves, Todd Mayo earned the win going five innings and allowing six hits, two unearned runs, walked one and struck out six.
For the Padres, Rob Jones, Chavers and Colton Morris all pitched with Jones taking the loss.
The trio allowed 10 hits, 13 runs, 12 earned runs, walked four and struck out five.

Braves 8, Padres 4
In game two, the Braves doubled up the Padres 8-4 to finish off the sweep.
The Braves led 4-0 after the first inning and 6-0 after the top of the second before the Padres cut the lead to 6-3 heading into the third inning.
After a run by the Padres in the fourth to cut the lead to 6-4, the Braves added one each in the sixth and seventh innings to get the win by four.
At the plate for the Braves, Booker was 1-for-4 with a double and Miles Powell was 2-for-3 with a homerun and three RBIs.
Swift was 1-for-4 with a double and two RBIs and O’Keane was 1-for-4 with one RBI.
Mancil went 1-for-2 with one RBI and Johnson was 1-for-3.
For the Padres, Jonathan Lucas was 1-for-4 while Brooks Brown and Christian Alvarez were both 1-for-3. Sessions had one RBI.
On the mound, O’Keane earned the win for the Braves going 5 1/3 innings and allowing three hits, one earned run, walked none and struck out eight.
Austin Holmes pitched 1 2/3 innings and allowed no hits, three unearned runs, walked five and struck out one.
For the Padres, Morris took the loss going four innings and allowing four hits, six runs, five earned, walked six and struck out four.
Sessions went three innings and allowed three this, two runs, one earned, walked and struck out two.

Astros 16, Phillies 5
In games Tuesday, the Astros cruised their way to a 16-5 win over the Phillies.
The Astros led the Phillies 6-5 after six innings but put a 10-spot up on the board in the top of the seventh to get the win by 11 in six innings.
The Astros pounded out 17 hits in the win while holding the Phillies to five.
Tyler Joyner, Dakota Graves and Tim McDonald had three hits each with McDonald having a double and one RBI and Joyner having one RBI. Graves had two RBIs.
Mike Williams, Jones Manning and Lane Clark all had two hits each. Williams had three RBIS while Manning and Clark had one each.
Taylor Elliott and Dylan Etheridge had one hit each with Etheridge having one RBI.
On the mound for the Astros, Joyner, Williams, Stokes Jennings, Clark and Manning pitched with Joyner earning the win.
The Astros pitchers combined for six innings and allowed five hits, five runs, three earned, walked and struck out six.
For the Phillies, Tripp Floyd was 1-for-3 and Jake Najor was 2-for-3 with one RBI.
Jared Cooper was 1-for-3 and Joshua Winton went 1-for-2 with one RBI. Sam Frazier added one RBI.
On the mound, twins Joshua and Caleb Winton pitched with Joshua taking the loss.
The duo allowed 17 hits, 16 runs, 11 earned, walked four and struck out two.

Astros 11, Phillies 1
In game two, the Astros claimed another run-rule win as they swept the Phillies with an 11-1 win.
The Phillies lone run came in the third inning while the Astros scored four in the first, five in the second, and two in the fifth.
The Astros pounded out 11 hits while holding the Phillies to only four.
For the Astros at the plate, Jones Manning was a perfect 4-for-4 with one RBI. Joyner was 1-for-3 and McDonald was 2-for-3 with three RBIs. Williams had one RBI.
Etheridge, Graves, Clark and Jennings all had one hit each with Etheridge and Jennings having one RBI.
Joyner, Williams, Dalton Shell and Jennings all pitched with Joyner taking the win.
Together, they allowed four hits, one earned run, walked six and struck out 10.
At the plate for the Phillies, Floyd, Najor, Hunter Brittain and Frazier all had hits with Brittain having the lone RBI.
On the mound, Jordan Williams and Tyler Baxter combined to pitch 4 2/3 innings and allowed 11 hits, 11 runs, three earned, walked four and struck out three.
Williams was the pitcher of record.
