Mrs. Gloria Carnley Johnson, 49, died Friday, Nov. 25, 2005, at her residence in Flomaton. She was a native of McDavid and a resident of Flomaton for the past 32 years. She was a member of Little Escambia Baptist Church, a volunteer for the American Heart Association and had worked as an aid at the Flomaton Elementary School for 20 years. She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Todd and Pearl Fuqua and Pink and Gladys Carnley; a brother, Jackie Carnley and a nephew, Trucker Carnley.
She is survived by her parents, L.J. and Helen Carnley of Century, Fla.; her husband, Charles R. Johnson of Flomaton; two sons, Charles Heath Johnson of Atlanta and Cory R. Johnson of Brewton; two brothers, Ricky (Marie) Carnley of McDavid, and Frankie (Kay) Carnley of Flomaton; three sisters, Jo-Ann (Lefoy) Williamson of Fritch, Texas, Joyce Carnley of Bryneville, Joan (Earl) DeWise of Flomaton, and a number of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Monday, Nov. 28, at 2 p.m. at Little Escambia Baptist Church with the Rev. Jeff Howard officiating. Burial followed at Flomaton Cemetery with Eastside Chapel Funeral Home directing. Pallbearers were J.R. Jones, David Nolin, Larry Zangas, Bill Price, Darryl Fore, Buddy White, Tommy Allgood, Arnold Weaver, David Curran, Ladon Hall and Donald Jordan.
