Mrs. Estelle Jones Richardson, 70, died Dec. 12, 2005. She was a native of Maringo County and a member of Little Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church. She had been a nurse at D.W. McMillan Memorial Hospital, was a member of the Eastern Star and ordained deaconess of her church.
She is survived by her husband, Melvin Richardson Jr.; a daughter, Mary R. (Edward) Deary of Midlothian, Texas; a stepson, Calvin Brazile of Brewton; a grandson, Calen Deary of Midlothian; her mother, Mary Lee Jones of Linden; three sisters, Bernice Jones and Martha (Lonnie) Scarborough, both of Far Rockaway, N.Y., and Christine Jones of Linden; three brothers, Edward (Janie) Jones of Chicago, Ill., Fred (Geraldine) Jones of Edgemere, N.Y., and Jerry Jones of Arverne, N.Y.; her sisters, Ammie (James) Bennett of Alexander City, Rebecca Michael and Easter (James) Jackson, both of Pensacola, Fla., Annie J. Jones of Castleberry, Louise Bradley Johnsoin, Gullice Richardson and Lillie Sanders, all of Brewton, and a host of other relatives.
Funeral services were held Saturday, Dec. 17, at 11 a.m. at Little Brooklyn Missionary Baptist Church with the Rev. Robert Gray officiating. Burial followed at the church cemetery with Presley-Fluker Funeral Home directing.
