The city of Brewton will sponsor its 14th annual street dance, Blueberry Drop and midnight fireworks show this Saturday, New Year's Eve.
Live entertainment begins at 9 a.m. in the edge of Burnt Corn Creek Park with the New-Orleans-based Sha'On and the Girls of Success headlining the event again this year. A crowd-pleaser last year, Sha'On produced music from Motown to ‘Sweet Home Alabama.'
The giant blueberry will drop from Brewton'w Welcome Center at Midnight with a fireworks show following.
The safe, well-patrolled family event is a great alternative for those who want to celebrate the New Year but prefer not to join revelers on the road who have potentially imbibed too much.
