Mrs. Lena Miller Salter, 87, died Saturday, Dec. 31, 2005, at a Jay hospital after an extended illness. She was a native of Deer Range, and was a long time resident of East Brewton before moving to Century 10 years ago. She was a homemaker and attended the Reorganized Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints. She was preceded in death by her husband, Herman Salter, and a daughter, Lillian Blackwell.
She is survived by a son, Vernon (Dorothy) Salter of Brewton; a daughter, Carolyn Lockwood of Calhoun, La.; five grandchildren; nine great grandchildren and four great, great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, Jan. 3, at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with the Rev. Thomas Smith officiating. Burial followed at Lonestar Cemetery in Conecuh County with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
