The fountain at Jefferson Davis Junior College was frozen over from the cold weather, but warmer weather was on its way.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s birthday tribute was planned for that day.

K-Mart had men's jeans on sale for $9.50.
Southern Normal Cyclones 9th graders lost a game of basketball to W.S. Neal.
Karen Fountain and Bill Herrington were married.
Hunting season was in full swing and Peggy Bracken shared recipes for venison roast.
