An appropriations of $10,000 was made Tuesday night by the city council to the City Board of Education in response to a plea by Superintendent John Stewart and members of the board.
The first big political rally to be held in these parts during the present campaign has been scheduled for Monday night at W.S. Neal.
At a meeting of the Escambia County Board of Revenue held here Monday it was unanimously voted to enter into an agreement with the state for a road construction program in the amount of 100 miles per year.
Sara O'Bannon was named T.R. Miller High School Valedictorian and Sara Louse Fay as Salutatorian.
A terrific wind and rain storm, which struck Brewton around 11 a.m. Tuesday, brought rainfall of 1.02 inches within the short period of 30 minutes.
