It may not have been the usual format, but it was this season's usual result for the T.R. Miller Tigers golf team.
T.R. Miller's 18-hole meet at the Country Club of Brewton Monday was actually two meets within one.
The Tigers, who have not lost since their opening meet of the season at the Blue/Gray Tournament at Montgomery, used the first nine holes of play to knock off Monroe County and Excel, and the second nine holes to top Greenville.
The Tigers had a round of 164 in the front end of play, while Monroe County was second at 209. Excel was third at 219.
All four T.R. Miller counter spots were better than the top score for Monroe County and Excel. Tripp Owens led that list with a one-over-par 37, while James Dixon was just one shot off the lead at 38. Hayes Martin checked in at 44, while Clay Parker was the final counter at 45. Brooks Fussell finished up at 47. Fussell's 47 matched the best individual score for both Monroe County and Excel.
The Tigers posted their best nine-hole score of the season in their second nine holes, as they knocked off Greenville 158-195.
T.R. Miller's scoring order was the same as the first match. Owens again led all players with a one-under par 35, while Dixon finished at one-over-par 37. Martin came in at 40, while Parker concluded the scoring at 46. Fussell finished at 48. Greenville's top individual score was 44.
T.R. Miller concludes the regular season next Monday with a stiff test when it travels to defending Class 4A state champion Andalusia. Ozark and Elba are also slated to compete. That match will be an 18-hole meet that gets underway at 1 p.m.
