Two home tournaments and one new regular season foe are among the features of the 2006-07 T.R. Miller High School basketball schedule.
The upcoming season is T.R. Miller's turn to host the annual Escambia County Tournament, which will be played in Brewton Dec. 14-16.
The Tigers will also host the Fifth Annual T.R. Miller Holiday Tournament, which will be played Dec. 28-30. This year's tournament has been reduced back to eight teams after a one-year experiment with 16 teams.
Flomaton, Northview (Fla.), Excel, Monroe County, Georgiana, Jay (Fla.) and Alabama Independent School Association member Mobile Christian are tentatively scheduled to join the host Tigers in that field.
In addition to those two tournaments, the Lady Tigers will be returning to the Pensacola Catholic Tournament after a one-year absence. T.R. Miller won that event in 2003 and took third in 2004. Last season the Lady Tigers switched venues and played at the Spring Hill College Tournament in Mobile.
Also new to the schedule is a home date with UMS-Wright. That game, which will be played Dec. 5, is also T.R. Miller's home opener.
T.R. Miller is slated to begin the season with a road trip to Northview (Fla.) Dec. 1.
