Heart Fund grateful for donations
The total receipts for the American Heart Fund drive for Flomaton were $3,239. Once again, for the last five years, a new goal has been reached, and this is the largest amount received in my area of coverage in 18 years as chairman of the Flomaton American Heart Fund Drive.
Add to this, the Flomaton Elementary School physical education students in grades two through five took in more than $1,400.
Thanks to Alice White and coaches Parker and Sessions for handling the jump rope for heart program so effectively. I also wish to give credit to the seen ladies who handle their neighborhoods. In the past, not over three areas received over $100, but this year, all seven areas received more than $100. One area received $200.
Thanks to the seven ladies for covering their neighborhoods so well. They are Emily White Burnham, Karen Cash, Shelmerdene Folsom, Carolyn Jordan, Jean Nolin, Orene Schmitz and Dot Wiggins.
My thanks go out to everyone in the Flomaton and surrounding area who helped make 2006 an all-time record for the Flomaton Heart Fund Drive.
John L. Folsom
