The Jefferson Davis Community College volleyball program has doubled its recruiting class for the 2006 season from two to four players.
The Lady Warhawks have inked Amanda Pullen, a 5-7 outside hitter from Sneads High School in Chattahoochee (Fla.).
While Pullen's signing is through volleyball, she is also expected to play softball at JDCC. Pullen is a centerfielder and catcher at Sneads.
JDCC has also added Julie Brown, a 5-9 outside hitter from Hamilton.
The Lady Warhawks earlier added Kathrine Phillips, a setter/outside hitter from Baker (Fla.), and Megan Petrie, a setter from Milton (Fla.).
JDCC men's basketball coach Allen Gainer has also signed his first recruit for the 2006-07 season.
The Warhawks have added Jake Nelson, a 6-4, 200-pound guard/forward from Jay (Fla.). Nelson comes to JDCC as a redshirt sophomore. Nelson played at Alabama Southern in the 2004-05 season and sat out this past season.
Gainer hopes to quickly fill the rest of his recruiting class.
