Jenkins, TRM B-team defeat WSN 22-6

Tamerick Jenkins scored three touchdowns in the second half as the T.R. Miller Tiger B-team scored 22 unanswered points in the second half to down the Eagles of W.S. Neal 22-6 Monday night in Brewton.
T.R. Miller, 2-1 overall, trailed W.S. Neal (0-2) 6-0 in the first half after a scoreless tie after the first quarter. T.R. Miller came out in the second half and scored 14 points in the third quarter to take a 14-6 lead over W.S. Neal and added eight more points in the fourth quarter to earn the win by 16.
Jenkins scored all three touchdowns for the Tigers as he led the team with 134 rushes on 12 carries. Jenkins scored on runs of 36, 16 and 34.
W.S. Neal’s lone score came on a 6-yard pass from quarterback Lane Chavers to TyShawn Davis.
In the first half, W.S. Neal had 61 total yards of offense with 55 rushing and 6 passing.
T.R. Miller had 48 yards of total offense with all coming on the ground.
In the second half, W.S. Neal was held to 34 yards of offense with 27 coming on the ground and seven in the air.
The Tigers had 132 yards of total offense in the second half with 119 coming on the ground and 13 in the air.
Along with Jenkins 134 yards rushing, Markail Mitchell had 15 yards on five carries and Ahmaud Taylor had 12 yards on six carries. Quarterback Jones Manning had six carries on one carry.
Manning was 1-for-4 passing with 13 yards. Mitchell had the lone reception for the Tigers.
For W.S. Neal, Daquan Kiser led the Eagles with 56 yards on 18 carries. Tre Smith had 11 yards on four carries and Tyquis Collins had 26 yards on four carries. Payton Salter had nine yards on two carries.
Quarterback Lane Chavers was 3-for-8 with 13 yards and one interception and one touchdown. Tyshawn Davis had a touchdown grab of six yards and Chris Puryear added one catch for eight yards.
The Tigers had six first downs in the win with five coming in the second half. W.S. Neal had seven first downs with four in the first half and three in the second half.
The two teams will face off again Monday, Oct. 8, at W.S. Neal. Game time is set for 6:30 p.m. in East Brewton.
