Kudos to all involved in Saturday's Alabama Blueberry Festival, from chamber of commerce organizers to vendors to local civic groups and volunteers.
The move to downtown Brewton was successful, with thousands of people stopping at Burnt Corn Creek Park to sample blueberry ice cream and cobbler, shop at various arts and crafts vendors, enjoy music and dancing and children's games.
Not only that, but many of those visitors took time to shop at downtown stores and eat in local restaurants.
We believe the move downtown ensures the Blueberry Festival will continue to have a bright future in Brewton.
