TRM cross country runs in Pace Tuesday, to run at home Thursday

The T.R. Miller Cross Country team was in action again in Pace on Tuesday and the Tigers brought home a first place win for the girls and eighth place for the boys teams. Teams in competition against the Tigers were Earnest Ward, Northview High School, Washington High School, Pace, Rocky Bayou, Gulf Breeze High School, Catholic High School, Navarre High School, and West Florida Tech.
Personal record times were set by Payton Baxter, Shelby Evans, Allie Nelson, Lindsey Norton, Morgan Rowell, Amber Terry, Stewart Campbell, Christian Carlson, Travis Carlson, Garrett Cave, Carter Frezell, Noah Morris, Dillon Simmons and John West.
The top five runners for the Lady Tigers were Karisa Nelson in first place with a time of 19:06, Allie Nelson claiming second place with a time of 20:45, and Katie Nelson taking fourth place for the race with a 22:05 time. Amber Terry claimed 11th for the Lady Tigers running 23:42, and Lindsey Norton took 19th with a time of 24:10.
The boys top five runners were Rob Stokes with a fifth place overall finish and a time of 17:04. Christian Carlson took 12th with a time of 17:33, Carter Frezell took 54th place and a time of 19:17, and John West claimed 76th with a time of 20:14.
Ryan Snowden took 77th for the Tigers with a time of 20:17.
“I can’t say enough good things about our runners this year,” head coach Rob Atkinson said. “They are working very hard each practice and continuing to improve each week.”
The Tigers will be in action again this Thursday as they plan to host their first ever 5K run at the Brewton Middle School at 4:30 p.m.
