I will continue with my series about downtown buildings.
123-125 St. Joseph Ave.
It was built about 1892 and remodeled about 1965. It was not ruined in the 1896 fire. It is a one-story, brick building with decorative brick cornice and one recessed panel in parapet. At first it was a bank with the other side being vacant. In 1903, it was a doctor's office with a jeweler on the other side. In 1910, it housed a jeweler and a barbershop. In 1922, there was an office and a barbershop. In 1930, it was J.W. Warden's 5 and 10-cent store and operated until the early 1900s. A. Plant Jeweler was here for many years. Today, it is the office of attorney, Billy Earl Cook.

It was built in 1898 as a hardware store. It is a two-story brick building. The fa
