Jesse James Odom, 84, of Crestview, Fla., died on Monday, Oct. 2, 2006 at a Crestview nursing facility after an extended illness. He was a native of Repton and a long-time resident of Barnett's Crossroads before moving to Crestview in 2001. He was a retired aircraft electrician with 30 years of service, a United States Army veteran, Mason Local Lodge #779 member and Monroeville York Rite Bodies. He was a member of the New Bethlehem Baptist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Thelma Lee Lisenby Odom of Crestview, Fla., two sons, Eddie Odom of Brewton and Jack (Sandy) Odom of Crestview, Fla.,; one sister, Ida Mae Morris of Century, Fla., seven grandchildren, Jamey, Melissa, Sheila, Justin, Josh, Paige and Mo; and four great-grandchildren, David, Hunter, Shelby and Dixie.
Visitation will be this evening, Wednesday, Oct. 4 from 6 to 9 p.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow, Thursday, Oct. 5 at 11 a.m. at Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home with Rev. Charles McGee officiating. Private interment services will follow in the New Bethlehem Cemetery in the Barnett's Crossroads community with Williams Memorial Chapel Funeral Home directing.
