RPM ministries, founded by Cindy and Daniel Johnson, recently received funds from the Greater Brewton Area Lions Club to assist the group in their ministry services.
Patty Mitchell, past president of the Lions recently made the $1000 contribution to the group as part of their efforts to help provide assistance within the local community.
RPM ministries currently serves more than 600 students in Escambia County teaching programs to students at the elementary school level.
The Bible based character education program trains area youth to minister locally and provides them with opportunities for ministry, according to Johnson.
The program was created under the guidance of the ministry staff at Camp Victory, a children's Bible ministries affiliate near Florala. The group aids the Johnsons with curriculum and teaching materials for the school program and work with them in an advisory and accountability capacity.
Funds received by RPM, Inc., is used to pay for the cost of materials to teach the children, Johnson said.
Students at W.S. Neal Elementary, Pollard-McCall and A.C. Moore Elementary are currently receiving the character education presented by the Johnsons each month. More than 50 classes are taught in Escambia County each month.
