Mrs. Doris L. Cox, 79, died Wednesday, Nov. 1, 2006 at a nursing facility in Pensacola, Fla. She was a native of Watertown, N.Y., and had been a member of the McDavid community for 56 years and was employed as a registered nurse at Baptist Hospital for 36 of those years. She was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church.
She is survived by two sisters, Nora Oja of Pennelville, N.Y.. and Gladys Slater of Cantonment, Fla., and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral Services were held Friday, Nov. 3, at 11 a.m. at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church with the Rev. James Huges officiating. Burial followed at Crary Memorial Cemetery in Bluff Springs, Fla. with Flomaton Funeral Home directing.
Pallbearers were Doodle Langhorne, Sam Macks, Fred Jordan, Charles Hopkins, Austin Macks and Dwight Hopkins.
